The Phantom Laboratory manufactures twohollow,liquid-fillable phantoms which are applicable to nuclearmedicineand magnetic resonance imaging studies: the Liqui-Phil™HeadPhantom and the Liqui-Phil™ Organ Scanning Phantom.
A liquid-fillable head form which duplicates the outercontoursof an average size male head and neck.
The phantom has three ports: one at the base of the neck andtwoon the upper sides of the head. The port at the base of the neckismounted on an access plate which can be removed for insertionoftumors. The access ports have o-ring sealed sphericalmountingpoints. Tumors mounted on their support rods can bepositioned in avariety of ways from these ports. Tumors included:3cm diameter,hollow, spherical; 2cm diameter hollow, ovoid x 3cmlong; 2cmdiameter hollow, ovoid x 4cm long.
This phantom duplicates the torso of a male from the diaphragmtothe upper pelvis.
It is equipped with access covers to allow phantom tumorsandorgans - liver, spleen, kidneys, stomach, and pancreas - tobepositioned within the torso. Each organ has screw ports foraddingor removing liquids, plus a large access port for insertingandremoving simulated tumors. Solid and liquid-fillable phantomtumorsare available in ovoid and spherical shapes. The organs andtumorsfor the Organ Scanning Phantom are purchasedseparately.Liqui-Phil™ Phantoms are excellent for calibration,qualityassurance, research, and training in nuclear medicine andSPECTstudies.
Both phantoms are built to approximate the proportions ofafiftieth percentile male and are constructed of celluloseacetatebutyrate, a transparent material that provides strength andlowwater absorption.
Tumors - Additional holders that allow positioning of hotandcold spots within the organs or the phantom, which are createdbyeither filling the tumors with contrast solutions or placingthemcold inside contrast filled organs.
